When The Going Gets Tough…

I am just staying focused on what I want to accomplish. That is my plan for the next several weeks because the Doctor is fairly confident that I have Mono. Big BOO to that. I went for blood work this morning to make sure though. Apparently I will be exhausted / sore throat /nauseous for the next few weeks and it takes months to recover. Activity will be minimal due to this. I’m seriously hoping I don’t have Mono and that is some type of weird bug that clears up over the next few days. Not counting on it though.
So, this is the time that I need to toughen up and follow my plan extremely closely because I won’t be exercising intensely. Sticking to the calories is an absolute must. I’m not going to get all pity party-ish on myself like I did when I had the surgery on my arm. Nope, I’m strong and able to work with whatever I’m dealt! :) How’s that for motivating?!

Since I’m stuck at home, blogging and tracking will be easy. And I have 9.5 more seasons of Friends to watch too. We’ve backed out of the camping trip that I was SOOO looking forward to, and I plan to rest over the next few days to see how I feel Monday. (In regards to going to work.)

My eating hasn’t been too bad, in fact this morning I am my lowest weight ever, go figure. *rolls eyes* Probably due to the fact that I’m existing on a mostly liquid diet due to how swollen my throat is.

So I got up this morning around 5am and made a yummy smoothie with some of the strawberries that I picked last weekend. This situation has pretty much taken away my whole appetite so I ended up splitting the smoothie with J.
My cup had:
  • 1/2 organic banana
  • 1/2c strawberries
  • 1c organic spinach
  • 25g Liberte Coconut Yogourt
  • 1/2 tbsp ground flax seed
  • 1/4c 1% milk
  • 1/4c water

I dropped J off for work and headed over to the dreaded hospital for my blood work. I waited about an hour which was to be expected. On the way home I ran a few errands – Shoppers, Gas etc. Grabbed a medium tea to help soothe my throat.

Then stopped in to work to get some mandatory things done. My boss is awesome and was totally understanding about the whole situation. He has a great sense of humor too…hence this notice on my office door. Made my laugh when I was feeling pretty crappy. :)

Superstore was my last stop before heading home, and it was to stock up on liquid diet items and a few magazines:

For lunch I had half a can of Reduced Sodium Home Style Chicken Noodle Soup (I think homestyle means they had a few measly carrots to the can, lol) with a side of soda crackers, cup of OJ and a cottage cheese cup.

So I’m off for some sleep now.
